Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in City of Adelaide in 2015/16 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($1,970 million or 41.7%)
  • Mining ($605 million or 12.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($399 million or 8.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $2,975 million in total or 62.9% of the total imports by total industry in the City of Adelaide.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 26.8% in Manufacturing; 9.6% in Mining; and 5.0% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
