Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Balonne Shire in 2014/15 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($102 million or 37.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($27 million or 9.8%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($26 million or 9.7%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $155 million in total or 57.2% of the total imports by total industry in the Balonne Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 40.3% in Manufacturing; 5.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 4.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between total imports by industries in the Balonne Shire and Queensland were:
