Dominant groups

Analysis of the hours worked by the Canberra Region's local labour force in 2011 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a lower proportion of people who worked part-time (34 hours or less) and a higher proportion of people worked full-time (35 hours or more).

Overall, 31.2% of the local labour force worked part-time (34 hours or less), and 62.2% worked full-time (35 hours or more), compared with 33.0% and 60.4% respectively for Regional NSW.

The major difference between hours worked by the local labour force force of the Canberra Region and Regional NSW is:

  • A smaller percentage of local labour force who worked 1 hour - 15 hours (10.9% compared to 11.8%)
