Analysis of the hours worked by the Retail Trade workforce in the Gunnedah Shire in 2011 compared to New South Wales shows that there was a similar proportion who worked part-time (34 hours or less) as well as a similar proportion who worked full-time (35 hours or more).

Overall, 50.2% of the Retail Trade workforce worked part-time (34 hours or less) , and 48.4% worked full-time (35 hours or more), compared with 49.9% and 48.6% respectively for New South Wales.

The major differences between the hours worked by the Retail Trade in the Gunnedah Shire and New South Wales were:
