Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Gympie Regional Council in 2015/16 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($588 million or 33.6%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($164 million or 9.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($123 million or 7.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $876 million in total or 50.0% of the total imports by total industry in the Gympie Regional Council.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 33.2% in Manufacturing; 9.3% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 2.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between total imports by industries in the Gympie Regional Council and Regional QLD were:
