Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Inner West Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (936 million or 22.1%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (824 million or 19.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (407 million or 9.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 2,168 million in total or 51.1% of the total exports by industry in the the Inner West Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 15.1% in Manufacturing; 10.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 4.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Inner West Council area and New South Wales were:
