An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Maranoa Regional Council in 2015/16 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction (543 people or 35.1%)
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (115 people or 7.5%)
  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (105 people or 6.8%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $763 million in total or 49.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the Maranoa Regional Council.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 20.8% in Construction; 4.0% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services; and 11.3% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services.

The major differences between local sales by industries in the Maranoa Regional Council and Queensland were:
