Dominant groups

In 2011, there were 4,260 people in the local resident workers who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in City of Rockingham, compared with 33,052 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work of the local labour force in the City of Rockingham shows that 8.9% used public transport, while 68.7% used a private vehicle, compared with 9.2% and 67.1% respectively in Western Australia.
