An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Sutherland Shire in 2014/15 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($2,099 million or 29.2%)
  • Mining ($1,060 million or 14.8%)
  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services ($820 million or 11.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $3,978 million in total or 55.4% of the total imports by total industry in Sutherland Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 35.7% in Manufacturing; 9.2% in Mining; and 2.9% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services.
