Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in The Hills Shire in 2014/15 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($1,703 million or 41.3%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($519 million or 12.6%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($313 million or 7.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $2,535 million in total or 61.5% of the total imports by total industry in The Hills Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 35.7% in Manufacturing; 3.7% in Public Administration and Safety; and 6.6% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
