Dominant groups

Analysis of the jobs held by the local resident workers in Wyong Shire in 2011 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Retail Trade (8,111 people or 13.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (7,955 people or 13.3%)
  • Manufacturing (6,112 people or 10.2%)

In combination these three industries employed 22,178 people in total or 37.0% of the total local resident workers.

In comparison, New South Wales employed 10.3% in Retail Trade; 11.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the local resident workers of Wyong Shire and New South Wales were:
