Dominant groups

Analysis of the jobs held by the local labour force in Yass Valley in 2011 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Public Administration and Safety (1,483 people or 19.1%)
  • Construction (786 people or 10.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (681 people or 8.8%)

In combination these three industries employed 2,950 people in total or 38.0% of the total local labour force.

In comparison, New South Wales employed 6.1% in Public Administration and Safety; 7.3% in Construction; and 11.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the local labour force of the Yass Valley and New South Wales were:
