An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in City of Adelaide in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Financial and Insurance Services ($4,557 million or 22.0%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($2,965 million or 14.3%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($2,880 million or 13.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $10,402 million in total or 50.1% of the total exports by total industry in the City of Adelaide.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 8.4% in Financial and Insurance Services; 7.2% in Public Administration and Safety; and 9.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the City of Adelaide and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Financial and Insurance Services (22.0% compared to 8.4%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Public Administration and Safety (14.3% compared to 7.2%)
