Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the City of Adelaide in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Financial and Insurance Services (5,251 million or 20.7%)
- Public Administration and Safety (4,154 million or 16.4%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (3,206 million or 12.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 12,611 million in total or 49.8% of the total exports by industry in the the City of Adelaide.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Greater Adelaide accounted for 11.0% in Financial and Insurance Services; 9.6% in Public Administration and Safety and 11.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the City of Adelaide and Greater Adelaide were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (0.6% compared to 17.2%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Financial and Insurance Services (20.7% compared to 11.0%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1.3% compared to 8.8%)
