Dominant groups
Analysis of the female resident workers individual income levels in the City of Adelaide in 2016 compared to South Australia shows that there was a higher proportion earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 19.7% of the female resident workers earned a high income, and 23.8% earned a low income, compared with 8.9% and 24.9% respectively for South Australia.
The major differences between the weekly income of the female resident workers in the City of Adelaide and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of female resident workers earned $2,000 - $2,999 (8.0% compared to 3.7%)
- A larger percentage of female resident workers earned $3,000 or more (5.5% compared to 1.4%)
- A smaller percentage of female resident workers earned $650 - $799 (7.7% compared to 12.8%)
- A smaller percentage of female resident workers earned $500 - $649 (7.7% compared to 11.8%)
