Dominant groups
Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in City of Adelaide in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (1,374 people or 14.8%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (1,189 people or 12.8%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,125 people or 12.1%)
In combination these three industries employed 3,688 people in total or 39.8% of the total resident workforce.
In comparison, South Australia employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.7% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 5.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of the City of Adelaide and South Australia were:
