Dominant groups

An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in City of Adelaide in 2016/17 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (3,786 people or 23.1%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (2,485 people or 15.2%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,310 people or 14.1%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $8,582 million in total or 52.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the City of Adelaide.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Greater Adelaide accounted for 14.8% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; 6.8% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
