An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Armidale Regional Council in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($458 million or 36.1%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($112 million or 8.9%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($82 million or 6.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $652 million in total or 51.4% of the total imports by total industry in the Armidale Regional Council.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Australia accounted for 32.1% in Manufacturing; 10.2% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.5% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between total imports by industries in the Armidale Regional Council and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (36.1% compared to 32.1%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (2.1% compared to 5.2%)
