An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the City of Ballarat in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (1,301 million or 34.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (532 million or 14.3%)
  • Retail Trade (288 million or 7.7%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 2,121 million in total or 56.8% of the total exports by industry in the the City of Ballarat.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 19.6% in Manufacturing; 5.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 3.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the City of Ballarat and Victoria were:
