Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the City of Ballarat in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($2,394million or 22.4%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($1,046million or 9.8%)
- Manufacturing ($905million or 8.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $4,344 million in total or 40.6% of the total local sales by total industry in the the City of Ballarat.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional VIC accounted for 22.8% in Construction; 9.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 8.1% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the City of Ballarat and Regional VIC were:
