Analysis of the local labour force individual income levels in the Balonne Shire in 2016 compared to Queensland shows that there was a lower proportion earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 11.0% of the local labour force earned a high income, and 19.3% earned a low income, compared with 17.0% and 17.7% respectively for Queensland.
The major differences between the weekly income of the people in the local labour force in the Balonne Shire and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of people in the local labour force earned $500 - $649 (10.6% compared to 8.6%)
