An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Bathurst Regional Council area in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:

- Financial and Insurance Services ($166 million or 8.2%)
- Wholesale Trade ($162 million or 8.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,102 million in total or 54.6% of the total imports by total industry in Bathurst Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 34.5% in Manufacturing; 10.3% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 4.3% in Wholesale Trade.
