Bulloo Shire is located in south-west Queensland. The Shire encompasses a total land area of nearly 74,000 square kilometres. Bulloo Shire is a predominantly rural area, with a small township at Thargomindah. Rural land is used largely for agricultural purposes, with oil mining and gas production also being important industries.
