An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Byron Shire in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Accommodation and Food Services (574 million or 38.0%)
  • Manufacturing (160 million or 10.6%)
  • Retail Trade (145 million or 9.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 879 million in total or 58.2% of the total exports by industry in the Byron Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional NSW accounted for 4.5% in Accommodation and Food Services; 16.2% in Manufacturing and 3.3% in Retail Trade.
