Analysis of the resident workers (Transport, Postal and Warehousing) individual income levels in Cairns in 2016 compared to Queensland shows that there was a lower proportion earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) as well as a lower proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 16.9% of the resident workers (Transport, Postal and Warehousing) earned a high income, and 9.4% earned a low income, compared with 19.6% and 10.0% respectively for Queensland.
The major differences between the weekly income of the resident workers (Transport, Postal and Warehousing) in Cairns and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of resident workers (Transport, Postal and Warehousing) earned $800 - $999 (17.8% compared to 15.2%)
