Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the City of Canning in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (4,062 million or 31.5%)
- Wholesale Trade (3,031 million or 23.5%)
- Mining (1,898 million or 14.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 8,991 million in total or 69.8% of the total exports by industry in the the City of Canning.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 12.9% in Manufacturing; 2.6% in Wholesale Trade and 58.6% in Mining.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the City of Canning and Western Australia were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (14.7% compared to 58.6%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Wholesale Trade (23.5% compared to 2.6%)
