Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in the City of Canning in 2021shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,995 people or 14.6%)
  • Retail Trade (4,324 people or 9.0%)
  • Education and Training (4,264 people or 8.9%)

In combination these three industries employed 15,583 people in total or 32.4% of the total resident workforce.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.9% in Retail Trade and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of the City of Canning and Greater Perth were:
