Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Cardinia Shire in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,309 million or 28.3%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($518 million or 11.2%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($501 million or 10.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,328 million in total or 50.3% of the total imports by industry in the Cardinia Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 32.1% in Manufacturing; 9.8% in Financial and Insurance Services and 5.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Cardinia Shire and Victoria were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Health Care and Social Assistance (10.8% compared to 5.3%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (10.4% compared to 5.4%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (28.3% compared to 32.1%)
