Dominant groups

Analysis of the age structure of the workforce in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area in 2016 compared to NSW shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (15 to 44 years) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (45 years and over).

Overall, 54.0% of the workforce was aged under 45 years, compared to 59.4% for NSW. 46.0% were aged 45 years and over, compared to 40.6% for NSW.

The major differences between the age structure of the workforce in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area and NSW were:
