Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Central Coast Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (1,813 million or 31.1%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (591 million or 10.1%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (537 million or 9.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 2,941 million in total or 50.5% of the total exports by industry in the Central Coast Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Greater Sydney accounted for 13.6% in Manufacturing; 12.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 3.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Central Coast Council area and Greater Sydney were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Financial and Insurance Services (1.9% compared to 19.7%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (31.1% compared to 13.6%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (3.1% compared to 13.2%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (8.3% compared to 1.6%)
