Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Central Coast Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($4,347 million or 31.8%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($1,325 million or 9.7%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($1,291 million or 9.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $6,963 million in total or 51.0% of the total imports by industry in the Central Coast Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 31.7% in Manufacturing; 8.2% in Financial and Insurance Services and 5.6% in Public Administration and Safety.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Central Coast Council area and New South Wales were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (9.5% compared to 5.6%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (6.0% compared to 8.3%)
