An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Cook Shire in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($379 million or 67.8%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($53 million or 9.5%)
- Accommodation and Food Services ($36 million or 6.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $467 million in total or 83.7% of the total exports by total industry in the Cook Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 22.3% in Mining; 6.8% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 3.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the Cook Shire and Queensland were:
