An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Cook Shire in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($135million or 32.2%)
- Construction ($98million or 23.5%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($32million or 7.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $265 million in total or 63.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the Cook Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 1.6% in Mining; 20.6% in Construction and 4.5% in Public Administration and Safety.
