In the Cradle Coast Region, Manufacturing had the largest total exports by industry, generating $1,104 million in 2017/18.

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Cradle Coast Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,104 million or 26.2%)
- Mining ($945 million or 22.4%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($792 million or 18.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,842 million in total or 67.3% of the total exports by total industry in the Cradle Coast Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 19.4% in Manufacturing; 7.1% in Mining; and 13.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the Cradle Coast Region and Tasmania were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Mining (22.4% compared to 7.1%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (26.2% compared to 19.4%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (18.8% compared to 13.2%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Public Administration and Safety (1.5% compared to 7.3%)
The total exports by industries in the Cradle Coast Region decreased by $189.0 million between 2012/13 and 2017/18.
The largest changes in total exports by industries between 2012/13 and 2017/18 in the Cradle Coast Region were for:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (+$275 million)
- Manufacturing (-$219 million)
- Mining (-$218 million)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (-$142 million)
