Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Circular Head Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (632 million or 59.3%)
  • Manufacturing (271 million or 25.4%)
  • Mining (95 million or 9.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 998 million in total or 93.6% of the total exports by industry in the the Circular Head Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 15.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 19.3% in Manufacturing and 5.9% in Mining.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Circular Head Council area and Tasmania were:

  • A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (59.3% compared to 15.4%)
