Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the West Coast Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining (575 million or 87.3%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (29 million or 4.4%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (14 million or 2.1%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 618 million in total or 93.9% of the total exports by industry in the the West Coast Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 5.9% in Mining; 15.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 3.0% in Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the West Coast Council area and Tasmania were:
