Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Greater Burnie Economic Region in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (474 million or 23.1%)
- Mining (379 million or 18.5%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (355 million or 17.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 1,208 million in total or 58.9% of the total exports by industry in the the Greater Burnie Economic Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 19.3% in Manufacturing; 5.9% in Mining and 15.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Greater Burnie Economic Region and Tasmania were:
