Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Cradle Coast Region in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,631million or 25.9%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($586million or 9.3%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($530million or 8.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,748 million in total or 43.6% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Cradle Coast Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 23.0% in Construction; 8.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 5.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Cradle Coast Region and Tasmania were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (8.4% compared to 5.0%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Construction (25.9% compared to 23.0%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2.8% compared to 5.3%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Financial and Insurance Services (3.8% compared to 6.0%)
