Dominant groups
Analysis of the hours worked by the workforce in the Cradle Coast Region in 2016 compared to Tasmania within the Cradle Coast Region shows that there was a lower proportion who worked part-time (34 hours or less) and a higher proportion who worked full-time (35 hours or more).
Overall, 41.7% of the workforce worked part-time (34 hours or less) , and 56.4% worked full-time (35 hours or more), compared with 42.1% and 56.2% respectively for Tasmania within the Cradle Coast Region.
The major differences between the hours worked by the workforce in the Cradle Coast Region and Tasmania were:
- A smaller percentage of local workers who worked 35 hours - 39 hours (18.1% compared to 19.7%)
- A smaller percentage of local workers who worked 40 hours (14.7% compared to 15.5%)
- A larger percentage of local workers who worked 41 hours - 48 hours (9.3% compared to 8.7%)
- A larger percentage of local workers who worked 49 hours or more (14.3% compared to 12.3%)
