An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in City of Darwin in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,759 million or 38.3%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($440 million or 9.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($424 million or 9.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,623 million in total or 57.0% of the total imports by total industry in City of Darwin.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Northern Territory accounted for 31.3% in Manufacturing; 9.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries in City of Darwin and Northern Territory were:
