Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in the Shire of East Pilbara in 2021shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (2,378 people or 48.9%)
  • Construction (435 people or 9.0%)
  • Education and Training (237 people or 4.9%)

In combination these three industries employed 3,050 people in total or 62.8% of the total resident workforce.

In comparison, Western Australia employed 7.5% in Mining; 8.8% in Construction and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of the Shire of East Pilbara and Western Australia were:
