An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in FNQROC in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($1,833 million or 20.1%)
- Manufacturing ($1,350 million or 14.8%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($1,159 million or 12.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $4,342 million in total or 47.6% of the total exports by total industry in the FNQROC.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tablelands (R) accounted for 59.8% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 8.0% in Manufacturing; and 7.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the FNQROC and Tablelands (R) were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (14.8% compared to 8.0%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (10.1% compared to 3.4%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Transport, Postal and Warehousing (12.7% compared to 7.1%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (20.1% compared to 59.8%)
The total exports by industries in the FNQROC increased by $1,262.3 million between 2012/13 and 2017/18.
The largest changes in total exports by industries between 2012/13 and 2017/18 in the FNQROC were for:
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (-$458 million)
- Manufacturing (+$386 million)
- Mining (+$384 million)
- Administrative and Support Services (+$355 million)
