Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the FNQROC in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,677 million or 17.4%)
  • Manufacturing (1,531 million or 15.9%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,362 million or 14.1%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 4,571 million in total or 47.4% of the total exports by industry in the the FNQROC.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 5.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 15.2% in Manufacturing and 9.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the FNQROC and Queensland were:

  • A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (9.9% compared to 27.1%)
  • A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (17.4% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (10.6% compared to 3.3%)
  • A larger percentage of total exports by Transport, Postal and Warehousing (14.1% compared to 9.9%)

Emerging groups

The total total exports by industry in the FNQROC $increased by 630 million between 2013/14 and 2018/19.

The largest changes in the total exports by industries between 2013/14 and 2018/19 in the FNQROC were for:

  • Manufacturing (+$520 million)
  • Mining (+$386 million)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+$222 million)
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (+$124 million)
