The Goulburn Mulwaree Council area is predominantly rural, with a city in Goulburn and small villages at Bungonia, Lake Bathurst, Marulan, Tallong and Tarago. Land is used largely for agriculture, particularly sheep grazing, with some cattle grazing and boutique industries.
