Infrastructure

The City of Armadale is located in Perth's south-east suburbs. The City encompasses a total land area of 545 square kilometres, and features many parks, reserves and state forests. The City of Armadale is a residential, semi-rural and rural area. The main urban areas are in and around the suburb of Armadale, including the foothills of Kelmscott, Mount Nasura, Mount Richon, Seville Grove and Westfield.

The key employment sectors are retail, health and community service, education, and to a lesser extent, manufacturing and construction. The City of Armadale’s main retail area is the Armadale City Centre, with Kelmscott Town Centre being another significant retail area, and several smaller shopping centres (West Armadale, Westfield and Champion Drive). Armadale has one major public hospital (Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial) and one private hospital (Galliers). Armadale features a tertiary institution (Polytechnic West) and numerous private and public schools.
