Infrastructure

The City of Gosnells is located in Perth's south-eastern suburbs. The City encompasses a total land area of about 128 square kilometres, of which are substantial areas of state forest. The City is a growing residential area, with substantial rural areas in the east and south, and some commercial and industrial areas, particularly along the Albany Highway. The majority of the population live in suburbs west of the Albany Highway.

Key employment sectors include retail, manufacturing and education. Gosnells features two major retail centres (Centro Maddington and Home Town Cannington), and numerous smaller centres (Foothills, Forest Lakes, Gosnells Railway Markets, Gosnells, Langford Village, Maddington Square, Maddington Village, Spencer Village and Thornlie Square). The main industrial areas are located in Beckenham, Maddington and Martin. Gosnells features one tertiary institution (Swan TAFE) and numerous private and public schools.
