Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Gunnedah Shire in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($339 million or 26.9%)
- Mining ($224 million or 17.8%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($121 million or 9.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $684 million in total or 54.3% of the total imports by industry in the Gunnedah Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional NSW accounted for 30.3% in Manufacturing; 13.4% in Mining and 9.3% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Gunnedah Shire and Regional NSW were:
