Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of Harvey in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,289million or 49.7%)
- Mining ($259million or 10.0%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($171million or 6.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,719 million in total or 66.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of Harvey.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 25.2% in Construction; 11.9% in Mining and 1.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of Harvey and Western Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Construction (49.7% compared to 25.2%)
