An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Inner West Council area in 2019/20 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($940 million or 24.7%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($503 million or 13.2%)
- Wholesale Trade ($381 million or 10.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,823 million in total or 48.0% of the total exports by total industry in the Inner West Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 16.6% in Manufacturing; 9.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 6.0% in Wholesale Trade.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the Inner West Council area and New South Wales were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (24.7% compared to 16.6%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Other Services (5.6% compared to 1.2%)
