Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Inner West Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($2,378 million or 28.7%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($1,252 million or 15.1%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($809 million or 9.8%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $4,439 million in total or 53.6% of the total imports by industry in the the Inner West Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 32.2% in Manufacturing; 10.4% in Financial and Insurance Services and 7.0% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the Inner West Council area and New South Wales were:
